How the Build Calculator works

Sailor Piece stacks most combat buffs additively within a stat category. If your clan gives +40% damage and your race gives +30% damage, your final damage multiplier is 1 + (40 + 30) / 100 = 1.70×, not 1.40 × 1.30 = 1.82× that a pure multiplicative model would produce. The calculator uses the additive model for damage, HP, sword damage, melee damage, luck, drop rate, speed, and fruit damage. Damage Reduction, Defense, and Cooldown Reduction are also additive but capped (80% / 80% / 60%), and the calculator flags you with a yellow warning bar when a cap is exceeded.

Picking a preset

The preset buttons along the top load a curated meta configuration in one click. After loading, every selector is editable — the preset is just a starting point. Use this workflow:

  • Sword DPS: baseline for sword builds — Mugetsu + Shadowborn + Secret Trait 3 + Ichigo + Monarch Armor + Hellfire.
  • Tank / Infinite Tower: maximise HP + defense + DR for long fights.
  • Farming: stacks luck and drop rate to push rare material farming rates up.
  • Boss Damage: pure damage ceiling — best for quickly killing raid bosses.
  • Beginner: realistic without Mythical-rarity rolls — uses entries a new player can obtain.

Reading the breakdown

Expand "Detailed breakdown" at the bottom of the results panel to see exactly which entry contributed how much to each stat. This matters for two reasons:

  • It lets you verify the calculator's math against your in-game UI.
  • It shows you which slot is the weakest link — if your clan only contributes 5% damage while the rest of your build adds 200%, you know to prioritise rerolling that slot first.

Sharing your build

The URL updates in real time as you change selections. Click "Copy build link" and paste anywhere — Discord, a forum post, an image caption. When anyone opens it, the calculator hydrates to the exact configuration you had. No login, no accounts, no state outside the URL.

What comes next

Upcoming additions: a reroll probability simulator (how many rerolls until you actually hit Celestial or Monarch?), a build-vs-build comparison mode, and exported build cards (PNG / OG images) for social sharing. Track progress on the homepage.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Build Calculator compute total damage in Sailor Piece?
The calculator sums all percentage damage buffs from your selected clan, race, trait, fruit, sword, accessory, and aura additively: final damage = 1 + (sum of all damage %) / 100. A build with +40% damage from a clan and +30% damage from a race produces a 1.70× damage multiplier. This matches the additive stacking model confirmed by community testing.
Are there stat caps I should know about?
Yes. Damage Reduction caps at 80%, Defense caps at 80%, and Cooldown Reduction caps at 60%. The calculator warns you when a selection pushes one of these over the cap — that means you're wasting stat value and could swap the source for a stat that has headroom (damage, HP, luck).
What does the Build Power Score actually measure?
Score is a weighted sum of all canonical combat stats (damage, HP, sword damage, luck, defense, DR, CDR, lifesteal, drop rate) normalized so a top-meta configuration lands in the 80–95 range and a beginner roll lands around 20–30. It's designed to answer one question: "is this build reasonable for my goal?" at a glance, without forcing you to read every stat.
Why is my sword damage bonus showing a warning?
The calculator warns when you have +X% sword damage stacked but no sword equipped — because sword damage bonuses only apply while you're wielding a sword. Same for fruit damage. Either equip a weapon of that type or swap the source for a generic damage / HP buff.
How do I share my build with other players?
Click "Copy build link" below the selectors. Your current configuration is encoded in the URL (?clan=monarch&race=kitsune&...), so pasting that link opens the calculator with your exact selections already loaded.
Does the calculator use the E0 base or the E5 max buff for accessories?
It uses E5 (fully enchanted) values by default, because that's the realistic long-term ceiling and the value most build planning targets. The accessory detail pages show both E0 and E5 side-by-side so you can see the uplift, but the calculator stays on the single number that matters for final build planning.
